Enticement at the Wasteland

An angel's opus accompany me,
As my mind cradle past to present.
Ravens hover around me;
Circling my almost rigor flesh,
Eyeing my yielding heart.
Their gaze: piercing,
Even through my frail frame.
The desert sun: it blinds my chimera!
The desert sands: it robes my bare body!
Rabid coyotes: laughing!
Amongst themselves; skirmishing,
As to whom obtain the lion share of me.
I thirst for a drop of unfiltered truth.
Then a serpent came slithering,
Offering a drink,
To douse my crippling thirst.
Like a spout from its fang,
Glistening liquor: it coaxed!
The lure of that liquid vile,
Venomous as it may
Manifestly seem.
Masked itself in a saccharine placebo;
Making the offer more tempting,
Blindly more enticing!
A bargain was struck,
A covenant was made,
And a soul was traded.
Amid a parched gullet
I lay in the barren sands,
Orifice opened: awaiting absolution!
The malevolent snake it took mercy.
Then drops of noxious ambrosia,
Filled my whole being!
The dilute pushed through my veins,
Then pass my wits...
My soul subsequently!
All faded to black!
Memories no more!
The angel's interlude,
Befell into banshee shrieks;
Their incoherent eloquence,
Their melody of obscurity,
I inaudibly deciphered!
The once fuming desolate:
I laid my head on,
Altered to this verdant Eden.
The Ravens: a catalyst for butterflies!
The Coyotes: Apostles twelve!
The Serpent: My Eve! My Magdalene!
My errant persuasion: My only absolution!
Eyes before wide shut,
Now, no more cryptic visions!
...For my thirst: Will forever be my Cross!
Mine alone to bear!
